Kansas Speeding Ticket - Kansas Traffic Violations
If you have a Kansas speeding ticket, here are some things you need to know. Many states in the U.S. use a point system that rates moving violations by assigning a certain number of points for each type of infraction.
Kansas does not use a point system.
In KANSAS, they use a system of "occurrences", rather than points. If you get three moving violations within twelve months, you will be warned by the Department of Revenue that your license will be suspended. If you receive a 4th occurrence or violation; your license may be suspended for 30 days.

Moving violations include other tickets in addition to speeding; such as running a red light, failing to yield the right-of- way, improper lane change and many more.
Violations such as reckless driving and driving while suspended that are considered very serious and may carry a 90 day suspension without anything else on your record.
In Kansas, you also have the risk of becoming a "habitual violator" if you get three major violations within a five year period. This will suspend your license for three years.
The types of violations that may put your license in a habitual violator status are:
*Driving while suspended
Before pleading guilty - or "no contest" to a Kansas speeding ticket or other Kansas traffic violation, it is highly advisable to call an attorney or check with the Kansas Department of Revenue at (785)296-3671.
It is common knowledge that traffic violation convictions on your record can affect your insurance rates, credit score, and employment prospects. But ending up with a license suspension is an unexpected surprise you don't want.
Be aware that it is difficult to "undo" a plea once you have paid your ticket and plead "no contest" or plead guilty. It is much less troublesome and less expensive to get it right the first time!
