Driving Doughnuts in an Empty Gravel Lot

by Cody
(St. robert Mo 65584)

Driving Doughnuts in an empty gravel lot:

There is an empty lot of gravel on a backroad in my town.

I was doing a few doughnuts in the lot, it was me and a friend back there and a couple cops came and gave me a careless and imprudent driving w/o an accident ticket...

Is what i was doing defined as careless and imprudent driving?

Hello and thank you for your inquiry. To answer your question simply, Yes, driving doughnuts in an empty parking lot is careless and imprudent ( C&I) driving.

You didn't have an accident which is fortunate, but is was a dangerous activity to you, your passenger, and hard on your car as well.

Nothing Better To Do?
by: Anonymous

It might not seem so to you, creating doughnuts in an empty lot but what about wear and tear on the tires, the waste of precious gas, etc.

Are you independently wealthy? Not to mention such an immature and irresponsible waste of time. Surely you can find something more constructive to do and would benefit mankind and the environment.

Yes, there is little good that comes from driving wildly in a parking lot - or anywhere else for that matter. That's why the police try their best to discourage it by writing Careless & Imprudent (C & I ) or reckless driving tickets.
