Non Durable Power Of Attorney Template
A non durable power of attorney template or a non durable POA lets you appoint an agent or a person whom you can trust to make
important decisions on your behalf until you die. It's a legal document which appoints an agent that is sometimes known as
an agent-in-fact or a "power of attorney."
What is a Non Durable POA?
It is a powerful legal document that allows an agent to act in your name until you become incapacitated or die.
A non-durable power of attorney can be granted for a specified amount of time or it can be more general.
An example of this would be
by giving a relative, friend, or caregiver the ability to pay your bills while you are alive. This power would of course end when you died.
How is a Non Durable Power of Attorney Used?
It may be used for land transactions, filing documents, child care or other legal matters in which you aren't going to be present yourself.
There are two main types of non-durable powers of attorney.
A non durable power of attorney may be limited and general. A limited power of attorney is the type of POA that is granted for a
specific length of time to an individual, such as your real estate agent.
General powers of attorney are rarely granted, as they give another person the exact
same rights to make decisions for you as you yourself have until you become incapacitated.
When you sign a power of attorney, you should be very clear on whether the POA you are granting is for medical decisions, financial decisions or both.
Only grant people you trust a POA.

If you do-it-yourself, be smart about it!
To make sure your goals are not compromised, it's wise to have an attorney inspect any form you are intending to use to consider
all the possible legal ramifications. Special Power of Attorney forms are important to "execute prudently the first time", since by their nature, there is often no one left
to "make it right."
